Comprehensive Care

What Does a Comprehensive Dental Exam Include?

Our comprehensive dental exam includes low-radiation digital X-rays, periodontal measurements, and an oral cancer screening. This thorough assessment helps us create a customized treatment plan.

How Often Should I Schedule a Comprehensive Exam and Cleaning?

We recommend scheduling a comprehensive exam and cleaning every six months to maintain optimal oral health. Regular visits help prevent dental issues before they become serious.

Do I Need X-rays at Every Comprehensive Exam?

Digital X-rays aren’t needed at every visit, but they’re an important part of your comprehensive exam on a recommended schedule so we can catch decay between teeth and other issues that aren’t visible during a routine look.

What Happens If the Exam Finds a Cavity or Other Issue?

If we find a cavity, gum concern, or other issue during your exam, we’ll walk you through the findings and put together a customized treatment plan so you know exactly what to expect before any further work begins.

Is Fluoride Treatment Safe?

Yes. Professionally applied fluoride is a safe, well-established preventive treatment. We use a precise, monitored amount designed to protect your enamel, and we’re happy to talk through any questions you have about it at your next visit.

Invisalign

How Does Invisalign Work to Straighten Teeth?

Invisalign uses clear, custom-made aligners that gradually shift your teeth into place. They are virtually invisible and can be removed for eating and cleaning.

Is Invisalign Suitable for Adults and Teens?

Yes, Invisalign is suitable for both adults and teens who want a discreet way to straighten their teeth. Our team will assess if Invisalign is right for you during your consultation.

How Long Does Invisalign Treatment Typically Take?

Treatment length varies by case, but many patients complete their Invisalign plan in about six to eighteen months. During your digital iTero scan, we’ll give you a personalized timeline based on your specific smile goals.

Veneers

How Long Do Porcelain Veneers Last?

With proper care, porcelain veneers can last many years, often a decade or more. Maintaining good oral hygiene and regular dental checkups will help ensure their longevity.

Are Porcelain Veneers Permanent?

Veneers require a small amount of enamel to be removed to prepare the tooth, which makes the process irreversible, though the veneers themselves can be replaced over time as needed.

How Do I Care for My Porcelain Veneers?

Veneers are cared for just like your natural teeth: regular brushing, flossing, and dental checkups. We also recommend avoiding biting down on very hard objects to keep them looking their best for years to come.

Dental Implants

What Are Dental Implants?

A dental implant is a treatment for patients with missing teeth. It works as a root for replacement teeth. The implant body is made from titanium that “fuses” with the bone. The implant is considered a long-term replacement. The replacement teeth are connected to the implant so they are anchored in place. They are as close to natural teeth as you can get; they look, feel, and perform similarly to your natural teeth.

Why Are Dental Implants a Good Solution for Replacing Missing Teeth?

Bone grows and bonds to the implant surface, so the implant acts like a natural tooth. Implant-supported restorations look and feel natural; there is no visible difference. Implants transmit chewing forces to the bone, which helps maintain and preserve bone and facial structure. If tooth roots are missing, these forces cease, and the bone may slowly recede and cause shifting teeth and facial shape changes.

What Are the Alternatives to Dental Implants?

1. Partial and full dentures: Partial and full dentures can be used to replace single or multiple missing teeth. Partial dentures have metal clasps that snap onto the adjacent teeth. Dentures are used when all teeth (upper, lower, or both) have been lost. All dentures are removable.

2. Bridge: A bridge helps fill the gap in the mouth where a tooth is missing. The teeth adjacent to this space are filed down to accommodate crowns. A false tooth is attached to these two new crowns and “bridges” the gap.

How Long Does It Take to Recover from Dental Implant Surgery?

Initial healing typically takes about one to two weeks, while the bone fully fuses with the implant over several months before the final restoration is placed. Regular follow-up visits help us monitor healing along the way.

Full Mouth Rehabilitation

What Is Full Mouth Rehabilitation?

Full mouth rehabilitation involves restoring all the teeth in your mouth, often using a combination of crowns, bridges, implants, and veneers. It’s ideal for those with severe dental issues.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Full Mouth Rehabilitation?

Patients with multiple dental issues affecting the bite, function, or appearance of their teeth, such as extensive decay, worn teeth, or a combination of missing and damaged teeth, are typically good candidates. Our doctors evaluate each case individually to build the right plan.

How Long Does Full Mouth Rehabilitation Take?

The duration varies depending on the complexity of the case, but treatment typically involves multiple visits over several months. A personalized treatment plan will be provided.

How Many Appointments Does Full Mouth Rehabilitation Typically Require?

Since every case is different, the number of appointments depends on the extent of treatment needed. During your consultation, our doctors will map out a step-by-step plan and timeline tailored to your specific goals.
